F1 Mexico City GP 2023: F1 Standings

Publish date: 2024-05-28

Hello everybody and welcome along to this MARCA in English Formula 1 live blog, this time taking you through this weekend's Mexico City Grand Prix.

Max Verstappen has already secured the 2023 Formula 1 drivers' championship, with Red Bull also having been crowned constructors' champions.

However, there is still second place to fight for and Red Bull's Checo Perez is in a battle with Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes to finish best of the rest behind Verstappen.

After dominating all three practice sessions in Mexico, Max Verstappen looked set to secure pole position on Saturday, but sensational laps from Ferrari pair Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz saw the pair lock out the front row.

Verstappen starts from third, just ahead of AlphaTauri driver Daniel Ricciardo.
