Kerri-Anne Kennerleys neighbour selling up in Woollahra with a $16m price guide

Publish date: 2024-04-25

Kerri-Anne Kennerley’s former neighbour is selling up in Woollahra and the grand old home is considerably less expensive.

The television queen sold her Wellington St home for $22m last August — to returning expats Peter and Candice Berger — and is now residing in a $13.8m Gladswood Gardens, Double Bay apartment.

The just-listed Federation residence at No.5 Wellington has a guide of $16m for a September 3 auction via Randall Kemp of Ray White Woollahra.

And it, too, has had some famous residents over the years, including the Playfair smallgoods family; the Darlings; the Jacovides (high-end clothes in Double Bay) and, for 18 months Charles Farley, who was in the cotton industry.

Kemp says the five-bedroom, four-bathroom residence with double garage is tremendous opportunity.

“To find 740sqm of level land this close to the village is incredibly rare,” he said.

“The house is very special as it is, but there’s scope for the new owners to add value and put in a pool.”

Bulletproof suburbs set to defy the downturn

Among the highlights are the north-facing forecourt garden, central courtyard and spacious rear garden.

The garage, with artist’s studio above, is accessed via Osborne Lane.

The interiors include a grand reception room and drawing room; a high-end kitchen; a king-sized master suite and a modern office and gym.

Property records show the current owners are the Dang family, who paid a bullish $2.25m for it in 1995.
