Matt Shirvingtons Mosman mansion quietly returns for sale for 2022

Matt Shirvington’s stunning Mosman mansion has quietly returned to the market for eager buyers in 2023.

Despite an extensive campaign last year, the 7-bedroom, 5-bath home on a huge 1334 sqm sat on the market for 128 days during 2022, according to CoreLogic, during a challenging year for both buyers and sellers.

It has been Matt and wife Jessica’s home of the past 15 years.

Prices plummeted alarming in some markets at the top end of Sydney real estate last year.

But towards the end of the year, massive sales, including two epic One Circular Quay penthouses which sold in the $60m and $70m range, gives reason for optimism heading into 2023.

And Shirvo’s property journey, as it straddles 2022 and 2023, is more interesting than most.

He purchased the incredible Killara mansion Yileen on Sydney’s north shore in May for around $11.2m, before settling in November.

But then, according to reports, flipped the home in less than three weeks, selling for $11.6 million.

The profit on which failed to cover his substantial stamp duty bill of $720,000.

At the time of writing, Shirvo’s Mosman home wasn’t listed on any of the major property platforms, however it was listed – contact agent – on the website of Atlas’ Michael Coombs, who also held the listing last year.

The asking price is believe to be around $12.5m.

The Shirvington’s bought the home for $7m in May, 2017.

“Summoning an immediate sense of warmth and elegance, this stately Federation manor offers space, charm and functionality without compromise,” the marketing collateral for the Clanalpine St home reads.

“Complete with harbour views, separate self-contained accommodation, pool and tennis court, it caters to every whim.”

Prices in Mosman for houses have fallen four per cent over the past 12 months.
