Rookie Moses Moody scores 30 points vs. Nuggets; most by Warriors teen all-time
Warriors rookie Moses Moody scored a career-high 30 points in Golden State's 131-124 loss to the Nuggets on Monday night. Moody, 19, scored the most points by a Warriors teenager all-time in the loss.
Moody received his seventh career start as Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins were home to rest and other veterans were sidelined. The 19-year-old erupted in the first half with 22 points, which is the most points scored by a Warriors rookie in a half since Curry in 2010.
Moody, the No. 14 pick in the 2021 draft, is averaging 4.5 points in 11 minutes per game. Monday was his sixth double-digit scoring game.
Denver center Nikola Jokic tallied another triple-double with 32 points, 15 rebounds and 13 assists. He earned his 75th triple-double making him three away from tying Wilt for the most by a center.

The 30-point night in Denver was more individually impressive but perhaps more important to the Warriors were the 13 fourth-quarter points he scored in Dallas, all coming off secondary action when the Mavericks doubled Curry. To help the Warriors this season, he must take advantage of those types of situations.

Could he be a wild card in the postseason?
Slater: He's one of several possible wild cards throughout this two-timeline roster. Jonathan Kuminga, his fellow lottery rookie, is another.
It's been assumed that the veterans will play over both teenagers when the games matter most, but Moody and Kuminga have been better than the older bench options the last month. It's become more reasonable to see them as playoff factors.
